It has long been my dream to bring together the experience of Women's Radio Station and The Espresso Bar in one brand new radio venture. The station is online and across all the usual platforms. This is YOUR opportunity to talk, to enquire, to vent, to ask for help, to provide advice, to engage - in fact everything that you do so amazingly in The Espresso Bar Facebook Group, but live on radio. I’m proud to have been invited to be the only male voice on the WRS. My show is an in-depth 50 minute one-to-one interview with female guests who are inspirational. These include the author & broadcaster Lesley-Ann Jones, the actress and campaigner Denise Welch, actress and best-selling author Carol Drinkwater, author Nettie Baker (yes, Ginger’s daughter), vocal guru & health campaigner Carrie Grant, playwright & author Jane Robins & Trouble-Maker in Chief, Julie Burchill. My weekly conversation with singer / songwriter / cook Indiraa Batra is a fascinating view of life in two continents.
My Edinburgh Fringe show
Two years ago, May I say under duress, I agreed to write a 90 minute one-man-show for a London West End theatre. I was astounded when I was informed that not only was the show sold-out, but it was the second-fastest selling show in the history of the Jermyn Street Theatre (the fastest starred Sir Michael Gambon directed by Sir Trevor Nunn!) I’ve performed the show several times now in London and six times in Los Angeles where again, to my utter astonishment, each performance 100% sold out. It’s a wry look at the ridiculous adventure that has been my life and career.
“Are You Talkin’ To Me?” is a series of podcasts that I record on just about any subject you can imagine. They are often very forthright, to-the-point and perhaps even controversial. But above all, they are designed to entertain.
